CVS Health said Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccinations at 100 pharmacies across California will begin Friday after a one-day delay.
The company said the delay was necessary in order to ensure its stores had adequate supplies. Approximately 81,900 doses are initially earmarked for California.
Appointments are required, and can be made beginning Thursday via CVS.com, through the CVS Pharmacy app, or by calling (800) 746-7287.
CVS said vaccinations are available for people currently eligible under state guidelines, including healthcare workers and residents 65 and older.
The company said that as vaccine availability increases, it will have the capacity to administer up to 25 million shots per month across the United States.
