Domestic dispute ends in shootout in Mountain View apartment

A domestic dispute led to a drunken shootout between a man and woman early Saturday morning at their apartment in Mountain View, police said.

San Diego police received a report at 5:22 a.m. of eight shots fired in an apartment on Horizon Street near Catania Street, said Officer Tony Martinez. The witness said he saw his neighbor, a woman, shoot at a man.

When police arrived, the man was gone, Martinez said. The woman, who was uninjured, was in the unit with two firearms.

The woman said she and her boyfriend lived together and they had gotten into a fight, Martinez said. They had both been drinking and ended up shooting at each other.

Martinez said all their shots missed; no one was hurt.

Police seized the two guns they found in the apartment, Martinez said. No one had been arrested as of late Saturday morning, and the investigation was ongoing.
