Jason Momoa To Reunite With Amber Heard For England Production

  • Jason Momoa is back in England to resume filming for the “Aquaman” sequal
  • The Hollywood actor revealed that he is going blond for the new look of the superhero
  • Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson are reprising their roles as Mera and Orm, respectively

Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and the other stars of the “Aquaman” sequel are back in England as they are scheduled to resume filming “The Lost Kingdom” on Monday.

The 41-year-old Hollywood actor took to Instagram Sunday to share a video clip of him talking about his return to the country a day prior the shoot.

“I am finally in England. It is sunny out. It’s amazing, and I’m going to start ‘Aquaman 2’ tomorrow,” the lead star of the franchise said while walking outdoors as shown in the clip.

But before he could put on the Aquaman suit, Momoa shared that his hair is going to have a makeover because the new look of the underwater superhero requires him to go blond.

“This is the last day of the brown,” he said while touching his curly locks.“I’m going to be a blond. Supposedly they have more fun. I don’t know about that. We’ll test it out.”

Momoa went on to say that he is excited to reunite with director James Wan and the cast, which includes Heard, who plays Mera in the film series. Patrick Wilson is reprising his role as Orm while “Game of Thrones” alum Pilou Asbaek has joined the sequel, according to Entertainment Weekly

The “Aquaman 2” production actually started in mid-June, based on Wan’s Instagram post at the time that showed a film slate in what seemed like a snow-covered set.

Meanwhile, Heard’s involvement in the project has caused a lot of controversy as many fans of her ex-husband Johnny Depp have been petitioning for her removal from the sequel.
An online petition asking for her removal even garnered over 1.2 million signatures. The organizers of the petition branded the 35-year-old actress a “domestic abuser” amid Depp’s legal battle with a British tabloid that called the latter a “wife beater.”

Rumors swirled late last year that due to the intense backlash against Heard, the actress was unlikely to return for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” However, she squashed all the speculations in November in an exclusive interview with EW

“I’m super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that ‘Aquaman’ has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for Aquaman and Mera that it means we’ll be coming back. I’m so excited to film that,” she told the outlet at the time.
