Local Micro Roaster Opening East Village Coffee Bar

The F Street shop should be up and running by early August with a limited menu that features its signature Cool Beans blend. Full offerings, ranging from espresso-based drinks to batch brews and rotating single-origin beans, will roll out with the grand opening in late August/early September. He tells Eater that extensive renovation work has gone into preparing the East Village space, from installing a skylight to new tile work; local illustrator and project collaborator Bradford Lynn designed and painted a mural that runs along one wall and is also responsible for the product branding and retail merchandise design. Tired Eyes Coffee will be open from Monday through Saturday, with soft opening hours planned for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. After its grand opening, regular hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tired Eyes Coffee arrives downtown Tired Eyes is led by owner and head roaster Tyler Herrera, who has extensive experience in Southern California’s coffee community; he’s worked locally as a sample roaster at InterAmerican Coffee, behind the counter at Dark Horse Coffee Roasters, and as a regional salesman for Portland-based Stumptown Coffee at their Los Angeles hub.
