Townhouse fire displaces three adults in Oceanside

A fire that broke out in a three-story townhouse in Oceanside displaced three adults Sunday, officials said.

Several 911 callers reported the fire at the home on Via Blanca near Ivy Road about 6:10 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they called for additional resources and crews — a second alarm — because of the potential threat to adjacent units, Oceanside Battalion Chief Scott Stein said.

“Due to a quick response and aggressive action,” however, crews were able to limit the spread of the fire, which was contained to the third floor, Stein said.

No one was injured.

The Red Cross was assisting the displaced residents with temporary accommodations.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not available.
