Intervals of clouds and sun are expected Sunday with continued cooler weather, especially west of the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds will increase across the mountains and deserts starting Sunday afternoon, with gusts generally between 30 and 45 mph, forecasters said.

A deepening marine layer looks sufficient to support drizzle and light showers Sunday night into Monday morning for coastal areas to the mountains, according to the weather agency.

Temperatures are expected to cool each day. Lower deserts will hang on to another two days near 80, while 60s will be plentiful from the high desert to most areas west of the mountains, NWS said.

Showers will enter the San Diego region from the north and west Tuesday evening, becoming more widespread on Wednesday, according to the weather service.
