Gwyneth Paltrow got candid about her quarantine experience and shared how the lockdown made her drink alcohol “seven nights a week. See the article : 3-Month-Old Baby Suffers Broken Arm, 15 Fractures From Parents’ Abuse.”
The Goop founder admitted that she hit the bottle during the pandemic. Due to her love for alcoholic drinks, she ended up concocting her own fantastic beverage made from quinoa whiskey that she called Buster Paltrow.
“I drank alcohol during quarantine,” Paltrow explained to Mirror. “I was drinking seven nights a week and making pasta and eating bread. I went totally off the rails. I mean, who drinks multiple drinks seven nights a week? Like that’s not healthy. I love whiskey and I make this fantastic drink called the Buster Paltrow, which I named after my grandfather who loved whiskey sours.”
Paltrow’s quinoa whiskey was from a distillery in Tennessee with maple syrup and lemon juice. She said it was “heaven” and she would enjoy two of the drink “every night of quarantine.”
The “Iron Man” star added that she was “not like black-out” drunk but hankered after a cigarette when drinking.
In February, Paltrow shared that she tested positive for COVID-19 “early on.” Her battle with the virus left her with some long-lasting symptoms.
“A little background: I had COVID-19 early on, and it left me with some long-tail fatigue and brain fog,” she wrote. “In January, I had some tests done that showed really high levels of inflammation in my body.”
Paltrow turned to medical practitioner Dr. Will Cole who explained to her that “the road to healing was going to be longer than usual.” She has since been following a flexible keto and plant-based diet, prompting her to spend more time in the kitchen to cook her own meals. She also fasts until 11 a.m. daily.
Paltrow also started avoiding sugar and alcohol and has been doing major research in finding support for her new healthy habits. She added that her efforts to recover worked well for her.
“Everything I’m doing feels good, like a gift to my body. I have energy, I’m working out in the mornings, and I’m doing an infrared sauna as often as I can, all in service of healing,” Paltrow added.
Paltrow also noticed an improvement in her skin, which made her extra happy. She wanted to double down on her skincare routine and make 2021 “the year of never needing makeup.”
